We are a small multigenerational golden doodles breeder located in Nevada owned by two best friends, Marie Bonnie’s mom and Silvana Winston’s mom.
Our business is not a puppy mill, Bonnie and Winston are members of our families.
Our Story
In November 2019, Marie’s husband survived a heart attack but was disabled after surgery. Soon thereafter the Covid pandemic hit the world and changed everything. With families used to being hardworking and outgoing, staying all alone at home became challenging. The loneliness translated into talk about getting a dog.
At the time the two friends had no idea that goldendoodles existed. Marie’s husband wanted a therapy dog and sought a poodle for their unmatched intelligence in the canine world. On the other hand, their youngest son wanted a golden retriever after the memory of their first dog, Tucker, who passed away in 2009. When trying to compare the two, Google practically suggested combining them — unbelievable right?!
After speaking to her best friend about the decision, Silvana also became convinced that her family also needed a goldendoodle.
2020 was hard year for purchasing puppies, however, Silvana suggested signing onto two different waiting lists, one in Nevada and another in Utah, with the plan to choose whoever delivered the babies first. Trouble was: the litters coincided! Silvana then suggested to accept both for some diversity rather than have the dogs be related.
As the luck of fortune cookies would have it, everyone got exactly what they wanted! Marie and her husband were blessed with Bonnie, who’s exceptionally intelligent and considerate. Silvana received Winston, who’s just as outgoing and energetic as she is. Bonnie came a few weeks after Winston. They were childhood friends from the first meeting.
Our Mission
In the beginning, there was no intention to breed the dogs. However, lots of things changed over the time.
Marie and Silvana became passionate about goldendoodles as a breed after seeing the extraordinary joy these dogs bring to the family. Bonnie and Winston changed their lives dynamics.
Marie’s husband had gained weight rapidly after the surgery and felt depressed. With his diabetes spiraling out of control, doctors were not optimistic about his recovery. Bonnie changed the odds from day one. She needs walks at least twice a day for an hour or two, and she knows how to convince you to take her out. Today Marie’s husband is back to being a slim soccer player at age of 60.
Silvana lost her husband a few years into her marriage and developed lots of anxiety over the years. Covid made things worse, but ever since Winston become her companion, she realized he keeps her so busy, she has no time for panic attacks.
Consequently, Marie and Silvana spent the past few years learning everything they could about upbringing and training their dogs. Golden doodles are naturally easy to train puppies but as a dog breed they are unrecognized by the American kennel association, which they find sad and unfortunate and then the ideas of Sin City Golden Doodles was born.
We intend to develop our own line of goldendoodles by breeding Bonnie and Winston not for money but to improve the breed from each generation of puppies until our line becomes the recognized standard for goldendoodles from Las Vegas.
Our specialty will be black goldendoodles.
